Job Description:
The Billing Invoice Product Manager on the Payments Product team will play a critical role in enhancing Netflix’s global billing and invoicing systems. This position is essential to ensure that Netflix’s invoicing remains consumer-friendly, fully compliant with local and international regulations, and adaptable to the company’s evolving business models across 190+ countries.
You will lead the development and optimization of the billing consumer experience, drive transparency and regulatory compliance (including tax/VAT/GST), and future-proof Netflix’s billing infrastructure as we continue to innovate in payments, partnerships, and subscription offerings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own the end-to-end consumer billing and invoicing experience, ensuring clarity, flexibility, and compliance with tax authorities worldwide.
- Partner closely with Tax, Legal, Finance, Revenue Product Managers, Engineering, and Design teams to deliver compliant, scalable solutions.
- Build and manage tools (e.g., Invoice Regeneration Tool) and processes to support audits, government requests, and compliance needs.
- Drive initiatives that improve chargeback handling, bundle transitions, proration logic, and overall subscription lifecycle management.
- Anticipate regulatory changes and evolving business needs to keep Netflix’s billing systems ahead of the curve.
Requirements:
- Proven product management experience in billing, invoicing, payments, or financial systems (subscription billing strongly preferred).
- Deep knowledge of global regulatory compliance for billing and invoicing, including VAT/GST, tax calculation systems, and regional requirements.
- Strong understanding of recurring subscription models, proration, dispute resolution, and chargeback processes.
- Demonstrated ability to lead complex, cross-functional projects from ideation through launch.
- Excellent analytical skills to break down complicated billing scenarios and design simple, consumer-friendly outcomes.
- Outstanding communication and stakeholder management; comfortable influencing Legal, Tax, Finance, and Engineering partners.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Annual salary range: $120,000 – $515,000 (no bonuses; you choose each year how much of your compensation is cash vs. stock options)
